Thyroid panel (TSH + free T4 + free T3 + antibodies + reverse T3)
Diagnostics · Thyroid function
Tier A+
What this is
Biohacker/functional target ranges are narrower than conventional (TSH 0.5-2 mU/L rather than 0.4-4; free T3 in upper third of reference). Reverse T3 and rT3 ratio controversial — limited evidence for clinical use. Hashimoto's (anti-TPO) prevalence is high and subclinical disease matters for long-term outcomes.
Mechanism
TSH = pituitary feedback (most sensitive screen); free T4/T3 = active hormone; anti-TPO/anti-TG = autoimmune thyroid disease markers; reverse T3 = inactive T3 metabolite (elevated in stress/illness)
Dose & route
TSH annually; full panel if symptomatic or TSH abnormal
