Continuous glucose monitor (CGM — Dexcom / Libre / Stelo)
Diagnostics · Real-time glucose
Tier B+
What this is
Stelo 2024 launch (Dexcom) and Lingo (Abbott) brought OTC CGM to biohackers. Most informative early finding: individual postprandial responses vary enormously, same 'healthy' meal spikes some people and not others. Target keeping excursions <140 mg/dL and time-in-range high. Watch for sensor drift and calibration issues.
Mechanism
Subcutaneous filament measures interstitial glucose every 1-5 min; shows postprandial peaks invisible to HbA1c and fasting glucose; Dexcom Stelo (OTC 2024) first OTC CGM in US for non-diabetics
Dose & route
Typical wear: 10-14 days per sensor
